Uniform

School Uniform

Grey trousers or grey/navy skirts/pinafores, white shirt, navy blue sweatshirt or jumper/cardigan.  Blue striped dress or grey shorts in summer.

PE kit – it is most important that all children have a PE kit.  This should include navy shorts and a white t-shirt and black plimsolls.  A track suit or jogging bottom and sweat shirt should also be provided for children in KS1.

Jewellery – children should not wear jewellery to school.  Earring studs and sensible watches are acceptable although children should not wear 'Smart' devices. All earrings will need to be removed or covered with tape for PE.

We ask that all children bring a 'book bag' to school. These can be purchased from the school office with the school logo on but any similar alternative is perfectly acceptable.

Before statutory school age children are not required to wear school uniform, although they can if parents wish.  Please note that we do not guarantee a paint or glue free child at the end of a session!

All children in FS, Y1 and Y2 should wear uniform.  Many items with the school logo on them are available to purchase from the school office but there is no obligation to purchase these - similar alternatives from shops are perfectly acceptable. The Friends of John Hampden also sell second hand uniform at their main school events (May Fayre, Christmas Fayre etc.) and parents/carers can contact the school office if they wish to purchase second hand uniform at any other times.

All uniform, including PE kit and coats, should be clearly named. Name tapes can also be purchased via the school office

Traditional school shoes are preferred to trainers.  Children should not wear “croc' type shoes to school and open toed sandals are not encouraged. Children should always wear socks with their shoes.
