Welcome to The John Hampden School
Welcome to the website of the John Hampden School Wendover. I really hope you enjoy learning about our school through browsing our website and getting a flavour of what we can offer your child.
The John Hampden School Wendover is a Local Authority Maintained School, teaching children from 3 to 7 years of age. We are a three form entry infant school, with an annual admission number of 90, which we share into our three reception classes each September. We also run a highly respected 26 place nursery, which admits pupils in the academic year before they are due to start statutory schooling. Pupils remain at the school throughout key stage one and leave us at the end of year two, when they are 7. Most pupils start year 3 in our linked junior school, which is on the same campus.
Staff and Governors work hard to ensure children are happy and challenged. The school is very proud of its achievements and its excellent reputation. Our overarching aim is to engender a love of learning in our pupils, by supporting them through high quality teaching and engaging learning opportunities in order to thrive both academically and socially. The school is very proud of its achievements and its excellent reputation.
We offer a broad curriculum and a wide range of opportunities and we place emphasis on the importance of learning both in and outside the classroom to allow them to make our vision of 'Loving to Learn' a reality. Happiness is key and we strive to provide a strong system of support to ensure every individual is taught well, nurtured and cared for in our well-resourced and attractive learning environment.
To gain a fuller understanding, please contact the school office to make an appointment to visit us, ask us questions and see our children working – you will be made very welcome.
