Red, White & Blue Day

5th October 2017

Thursday 5th October was Red, White and Blue Day.

Red, White and Blue Day is run jointly by ABF The Soldiers' Charity, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. Each of these three charities is responsible for the welfare of soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families. On Thursday 5th October our school chose to support this national initiative. We currently have 32 children from Service families in the school  and Red, White and Blue Day was a chance for our school to show support for the huge number of Service families in the UK by dressing in red, white and blue for a contribution of £1 to go to the charity. The children enjoyed an assembly and were then treated to a special drill by RAF recruits.

 Feedback from our visitors included:

Lovely assembly, it was good to find out what help our military families get. Thank you.

Apart from being a friendly, informative assembly for the children, I know that my son will have a huge sense of pride seeing his daddy make a speech to his friends. A lovely well-constructed assembly. Thank you.

Very good. Very informative. Enjoyed the march. Look forward to next year!

Fantastic day for the children. Lots of information given.

What a fabulous assembly!! Well organised and informative. I'm sure the children loved it too!! Thank you for inviting me.

A really fantastic celebration and the children were so well behaved. A lovely tribute to service families and a great fundraiser. Thank you very much for all you do.
