Red, White & Blue Day

13th October 2016

Thursday 13th October was Red, White and Blue Day.

Red, White and Blue Day is run jointly by ABF The Soldiers' Charity, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. Each of these three charities is responsible for the welfare of soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families. On Thursday 13th October our school chose to support this national initiative. We currently have 26 children from Service families in the school  and Red, White and Blue Day was a chance for our school to show support for the huge number of Service families in the UK by dressing in red, white and blue for a contribution of £1 to go to the charity.

 Feedback from our visitors included:

It was really good to learn a little more about the support offered should either me or my husband be deployed. It was a little emotional but very reassuring. Thank you

Thank you for inviting me. A brilliant and thoughtful assembly. Pitched just right!

Thank you for a fantastic assembly. Lovely to see all the children dressed in red, white and blue.

Thank you for a lovely assembly. I think it explained Red, White and Blue day very well.

Thank you to you all, it's great to see the value of this day for the children to understand and to know I can go away happy.
