Red, White & Blue Day

10th October 2019
Thursday 10th October was Red, White and Blue Day.

Red, White and Blue Day is run jointly by ABF The Soldiers' Charity, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. Each of these three charities is responsible for the welfare of soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families. On Thursday 10th October our school chose to support this national initiative. We currently have 30 children from Service families in the school  and Red, White and Blue Day was a chance for our school to show support for the huge number of Service families in the UK by dressing in red, white and blue for a contribution of £1 to go to the charity. The children enjoyed an assembly and were then treated to a special drill by RAF recruits.

 Feedback from our visitors included:

A lovely assembly and drill display. The children sang their song beautifully. Thank you

Good to give all the children an insight into what service life can involve for their peers. Drill was a good end of the service for the children.

Great fun to see all the children dressed up and learning about our Armed Forces. A great event.

I absolutely loved the Red, White and Blue Day. I loved how nicely the children sat and listened in assembly and how they enjoyed the surprise drill. Thanks for a great morning.

Absolutely fantastic morning. Really enjoyed the well behaved children and so attentive. Thank you for supporting the services.
